The Marvel Cinematic Universe has changed Chris Hemsworth’s fortunes. Gone are the days when the Aussie heartthrob was considered just your run-of-the-mill chocolate boy. Ever since he took up the mantle of Thor, Hemsworth’s transformation as an actor has been immense.

But something even more astounding has been Chris’ physical transformation. Naturally blessed with a tall and broad physique, the Thor star used to be much leaner prior to lifting Mjolnir

In fact, he has left people so utterly impressed by his physique that the God of Thunder has inadvertently turned into the God of Fitness as well. Chris Hemsworth has legions of fans who dote upon his fitness tips and tricks to improve their personal fitness regimes.

Cardio For Definition 

You might think it’s a joke, but cardio does in fact help Chris’ muscles look more impressive, which is why the actor does it as a part of his fitness routine. He switches up between a quick dash on a treadmill or an intense assault bike session, although he’s reported to be partial to the latter. 

Weight Lifting For Serious Gains 

Chris Hemsworth’s trainer, Luke Zocchi shared that weight training is an obviously integral part of the Marvel star’s fitness routine, often hitting the gym five times a week. He splits his workouts into push-and-pull days, while equally including the different body parts, namely arms, chest, shoulders, legs, and core. As per Zocchi, bodyweight circuits and iron circuits are also included in Hemsworth’s fitness routine.

Combat Sports & Martial Arts 

Hemsworth is noted to have added combat sports and martial arts to his fitness regime as well as it mixes things up and keeps things challenging for the star. His martial art of choice is Muay Thai, a form of martial art and combat sport that originated in Thailand. 

Fueled By A High Protein Diet  

As we all know, diet is probably the most crucial element in one’s fitness routine. No matter how many hours you devote to the gym if your diet is lacking, then you’re not going to see the results you’re hoping for. Aware of this, Hemsworth is particular about what he puts inside his body, ensuring he takes high protein meals six to eight times a day. Although he depends mostly on animal-based proteins, like chicken breast, eggs, steak, and fish, Hemsworth also adds greens, brown rice, and cheese to his diet. 

Most importantly, he does allow himself cheat days every now and then, where he has pizzas, and even ice creams and chocolates too. So,  remember to cut yourself some slack, it comes advised by the God of Thunder.  

This doesn’t mean that Chris doesn’t have cheat days. He does and that includes a little bit of ice cream and chocolate!
