Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has likened his home to a hospital due to all of the fitness machines he keeps.
The PFA Player of the Year has taken his game to a different level since joining from AS Roma in 2017 for £34million. Though the Egyptian has been tipped with a move away from Anfield this summer with his contract up in 12 months, there’s still hope that the former Chelsea winger will extend his stay on Merseyside beyond next season.
In a wide-ranging interview with France Football, Salah has revealed that he has transformed his family home into a place where he can constantly ‘improve my physical condition.’
“Two rooms in our house are dedicated to different fitness machines, bodybuilding. At home I can also do cryotherapy, there is a hyperbaric chamber. I am constantly looking to improve my physical condition
“It’s true that I like to say that my house looks like a hospital, [but] my wife doesn’t like that! [She] says that I spend more time with my machines than with her!”
Part of the process of staying in top shape is Salah’s diet, with the soon to be 30-year-old saying that he is extremely picky with what he digests as hamburgers, a food he loves, makes him feel ‘heavy’ once he’s eaten.
“When I indulge in a great restaurant in London, I prefer sushi.
“I eat pizza once a month at the most. I love hamburgers , but I hardly ever eat them because afterwards I feel heavy!”
